As it is not mandatory to use a Registered Migration Agent, many applicants lodge their applications on their own. It is important to realize that visa applications can be quite complicated. Even for less complicated applications, unintentional mistakes can be easily made by those unfamiliar with the visa legislation and process. These mistakes can be costly, and can even result in significant delays in your processing time and possible visa rejection. As your Agent, we endeavour to make the visa application experience as complication and hassle free as possible for you, and using our services may prevent avoidable and unnecessary mistakes.

The Australian Government has created an authority which governs migration agents and the migration industry within Australia. This authority is known as the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA). MARA monitors all migration agents registered within its authority and expects all of its agents to abide by the stringent guidelines set out in the Migration Agents Code of Conduct. MARA also expects its agent to possess a sound knowledge in migration law and practice, and to maintain annual registration, an Agent must keep their knowledge updated and current.

If any client feels that their Migration Agent has acted in an unprofessional or unethical manner, complaints may be made to MARA who will then fully investigate the matter. MARA has the authority to de-register an agent should it be necessary, or to impose penalties or suspension.
